Airstrike hits residential area in Tehran: rescuers on site VIDEO
The Iranian Red Crescent reported that it responded to an airstrike on a residential area in Tehran early Wednesday morning local time.
“A few minutes ago, another residential area was hit by an airstrike, and Red Crescent and fire department personnel are currently providing assistance and rescuing the affected residents,” the organization said in a statement on Telegram.
Video released by the Red Crescent shows rescuers attempting to access a bombed building, with a search-and-rescue dog arriving at the scene. Debris is visible in the streets.
It is unclear which part of the city was targeted.
Earlier, Tehran Governor Mohammad-Sadegh Motamedian stated that US-Israeli strikes hit residential areas and critical urban infrastructure, including electricity, water, gas, and communications systems, according to Iranian state media.
Despite the attacks, he said, “Everyday life in Tehran continues without disruption.”
