ALBATROS-KAMIKAZE maritime drone trials start in Türkiye

The ASELSAN 2022 Annual Report contains information that the development of the ALBATROS-KAMIKAZE IDA unmanned marine drone has come to an end and field trials have begun in cooperation with ROKETSAN within the IDA project.

An important infrastructure will be created for ALBATROS-KAMIKAZE thanks to the experience gained in the ALBATROS-S development studies, Caliber.Az reports citing Defence Turk’s message on Twitter.

Thanks to ALBATROS-S, ASELSAN has demonstrated its capability in three different tests which were previously conducted.

• The possibility of automatically avoiding obstacles was demonstrated at the first stage, where navigation capabilities were at the forefront.

• The ALBATROS-S, working together with ASELSAN-SEFINE MIR IDA, which was determined as the leader of the group was demonstrated at the second stage, in which a joint mission with various types of marine drones was presented.

• Such capabilities as automatic target detection, approaching the target with various maneuvers and joining the group were demonstrated at the third stage.
