All key fragments from Turkish military plane crash in Georgia recovered
All crucial fragments needed for the investigation into Türkiye’s Lockheed C-130 Hercules military aircraft crash in Georgia on November 11 have been recovered, officials confirmed.
"All technical equipment and aircraft fragments important for the investigation have been found, and an expert examination is underway. More than 1,000 people - representatives of both the Georgian and Turkish sides - took part in the search and rescue operations," Georgia’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Gela Geladze, said, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
According to earlier reports in Turkish media, the recovered fragments will be transported to the central Turkish province of Kayseri for further examination.
The C-130 military transport aircraft went down in Georgia’s eastern Sighnaghi municipality, near the Azerbaijani border, shortly after taking off from Ganja. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
All 20 personnel aboard the Turkish military cargo plane, which was en route from Azerbaijan to Türkiye, were killed in the incident.
