Analyst Markov accuses Armenia of betraying Russia

Sergey Markov, general director of the Institute of Political Studies, believes that the Armenian prime minister's decision to freeze Armenia's membership in the CSTO is a betrayal of Russia.

"Armenia is freezing its membership in the CSTO, Prime Minister Pashinyan has announced. This is a preparation for the withdrawal of the Russian military base from Gyumri. This is a betrayal of Russia by the Armenian leadership," he wrote on his Telegram channel, per Caliber.Az.

"In fact, Pashinyan and Macron have hatched a conspiracy to pull Russia out of the South Caucasus and place French military bases in the South Caucasus. Azerbaijan is becoming Russia's main friend in the South Caucasus," Markov wrote.
