Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office Epstein probe
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly Prince Andrew, 66, has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office, as police intensify their investigation into allegations connected to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Thames Valley Police confirmed that a man in his sixties from Norfolk was arrested on Thursday (February 19) as part of an investigation into alleged misconduct in public office, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
The force said searches are being carried out at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk, and that the man remains in custody.

In a statement, police said: “As part of the investigation, we have today (19/2) arrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office and are carrying out searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk.“The man remains in police custody at this time.
“We will not be naming the arrested man, as per national guidance. Please also remember that this case is now active, so care should be taken with any publication to avoid being in contempt of court.”
Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright said an investigation had been opened following a “thorough assessment” of the allegation, adding that police were mindful of the significant public interest in the case.
The arrest is understood to relate to documents from the period when he served as a UK trade envoy, which are alleged to have been passed to Epstein. The investigation is focused on suspected misconduct in public office. Separately, police have also been examining allegations that a second woman was sent to the UK by Epstein for a sexual encounter with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. It is understood, however, that the arrest concerns only the alleged misconduct in public office.

Images published earlier in the day showed police officers near the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, where Andrew has been living since leaving his home in Windsor. Unmarked vehicles were seen arriving at the estate during the morning.
This marks the first time Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been arrested. He has previously and consistently denied any wrongdoing in relation to matters connected to Epstein.
The development represents an unprecedented moment involving the King’s brother and is likely to intensify scrutiny of his past links to Epstein.
Police have said further updates will be provided “at the appropriate time” as the investigation continues.
