Ankara confirms no immediate plans for Erdogan’s visit to Ukraine
There are currently no plans for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to visit Ukraine in the near future, said Omer Celik, spokesperson for Türkiye’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party).
Speaking to journalists during a press briefing, Celik clarified the situation following recent speculation regarding a potential diplomatic visit by the Turkish leader amid ongoing regional tensions, Caliber.Az reports.
“There are no such plans in the near future. If such a question arises, it will be reported,” Çelik stated, firmly dismissing the prospect of an imminent trip.
Earlier, the Türkiye newspaper said the visit was possible, that it was being discussed in diplomatic circles. Later, Ukrainian ambassador to Türkiye Nariman Dzhelyal clarified that "the Ukrainian side is working on organizing such a visit, but so far there has been no confirmation of the trip."
