Ankara urges Gaza stabilization force to safeguard fragile truce
Türkiye's main expectation from a planned International Stabilisation Force in Gaza is for it to provide guarantees that the fragile ceasefire will last.
Zeki Akturk, spokesperson for the Turkish Ministry of National Defence, made the statement, noting that Ankara stands ready to support any constructive efforts aimed at stabilizing the situation in Gaza, Caliber.Az reports
“We continue to make principled and constructive contributions to international initiatives that will ensure the establishment of a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the reconstruction of the area,” said Akturk.
He further underlined that the US-led Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) must ensure the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza in full compliance with international law.
The International Stabilization Force taking over security control in Gaza is part of US President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan to end the war.
