Another protest staged in Armenia

A new protest was staged in the Armenian capital Yerevan on May 24.

The protest took place near the railway station in the city, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported from the scene.

It began at 19:00 local time, and the participants arrived in heavy rain, almost all with umbrellas or raincoats. There were fewer people than usual attending the rally in Armenia's capital, owing to the weather and the venue's remoteness from the city centre.

There were also police officers in the square where the protesters had gathered, as well as police cars on the roads nearby. There were several security buses and paddy waggons in the distance, as well as soldiers from the police special forces - "red berets", the report added.
