During the meeting, which was also attended by the Turkish Ambassador to Argentina Suleyman Omur Budak, Argentina and Turkey agreed to sign an agreement aimed at establishing cooperation in the defence industry to develop production capacity, supply, maintenance of goods and services and related measures.
During the talks, TUSAŞ representatives made an offer to the Argentine side regarding the ANKA Unmanned Combat Aircraft Strike Vehicle (UCAV). The proposal also includes the possibility of concluding production cooperation agreements in case of possible ANKA procurement to ensure the development of Argentina's defence industrial sector.
It is known that TUSAŞ currently has a joint venture with INVAP, a company from Argentina's Rio Negro province, to jointly develop communication satellites.
After the meeting, Bertan Kurt, President of TUSAŞ Corporate Marketing and Communications, presented the ANKA UAV model to Argentine Defence Minister Taiana.
The ANKA UAV, developed by TUSAŞ using national resources, can be used day/night and in bad weather conditions. The drone is equipped with payloads for reconnaissance, surveillance, detection of stationary/moving targets, real-time imagery for identification, identification and tracking, and target destruction tasks.
The ANKA UAV can stay in the air for 24 hours at an altitude of 30,000 feet and carry a payload of more than 350kg.
