Armed man attacks sports TV channel office in Istanbul, Türkiye

An armed man carried out an attack on the BeIN Sports television channel headquarters — the broadcaster of the Turkish Trendyol Super League — in the Ayazağa district of Şişli, Istanbul.

Preliminary information suggests the suspect claimed that one of the channel’s employees, Güntekin Onay, had insulted his wife, who works in the same building. The man demanded to meet with Onay, Caliber.Az reports, citing Haber Global.

Police officers arrived at the scene and began negotiations with the attacker, who was later detained.
