Armed robbery at Yerevan VTB Bank: Suspect escapes with over 1 million drams

An armed man has robbed a branch of VTB Bank in Yerevan, escaping with more than one million drams.

The incident occurred at the bank’s branch on Shinararneri Street 25, in the capital’s Builders district, Caliber.Az reports Armenian media.

Reports say the suspect burst into the building carrying a sign that read: “If you don’t return my money, I will blow everything up in 20 seconds.”

Before the police arrived, the robber seized a substantial amount of cash and fled the scene.

According to initial estimates, the stolen sum exceeds one million drams — roughly $2,600.

Police have launched a search for the suspect, and an investigation is underway.
