Armenia aims for 3 million tourists next year

Armenia anticipates a significant increase in tourist arrivals, projecting the figure to reach 3 million in 2026.

Lusine Basmachyan, a marketing specialist at the Armenian Tourism Committee, shared the forecast on the sidelines of the 32nd Moscow International Travel & Hospitality Exhibition (MITT-2026), Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

The MITT-2026 exhibition opened today at Moscow’s Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre. Running through March 13, the fair offers participants and visitors the chance to meet representatives of global tourism associations, industry regulators, and potential clients and partners, as well as to explore emerging trends in the tourism sector through an extensive business program.

Basmachyan highlighted Armenia’s growth trajectory in tourism: “In 2025, tourist arrivals to Armenia from all countries reached 2.3 million. In 2026, we expect this number to rise to 3 million. About 40% of our tourists come from Russia. Russia remains a key target market for us. Among Russian tourists, the most popular destinations are Yerevan, Lake Sevan, Areni—known for its wine caves—and Dilijan.”
