Armenia appoints new ambassador to Russia

Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan has appointed former MP from Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's faction Gurgen Arsenyan as ambassador to Russia.
“Taking Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's proposal as a basis, appoint Gurgen Arsenyan as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Russian Federation,’ Khachaturyan's decree reads, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Arsenyan was a deputy of four convocations of the Armenian parliament, he was also engaged in business activities.
Previously, Armenia's ambassador to the Russian Federation was former Armenian Defence Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan.
