Armenia completes repair of checkpoint on border with Türkiye

Armenian Foreign Ministry has said Armenia completed the repair and technical re-equipment of the Armenian section of the Margara-Alijan checkpoint of the Armenia-Türkiye land border.

"According to the previously reached and confirmed agreement between the special representatives of the two countries on the settlement of relations, is ready to serve this border checkpoint for citizens of third countries and persons with diplomatic passports, and expects the same from Türkiye," the Ministry said in a statement, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan told the Sabah newspaper that Türkiye may open the border with neighbouring Armenia if relations between the country and Azerbaijan normalise.
