Armenia considering toll roads for international freight, PM says
02 July 2026 18:07
Armenian government is considering opening toll roads in the northern part of the country for international freight transport, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated.
He reiterated that the shortest route from Central Asia to Europe passes through Armenia, particularly its northern regions, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
The PM said Armenia is currently working with the European Union to open an international transport corridor linking Gazakh with Ijevan and continuing through Vanadzor, Gyumri and Akhurik on the border with Türkiye.
The project is technically easy to implement and requires only a political agreement, Pashinyan added.
