Armenia, Czech Republic to boost military-technical cooperation

30 March 2023 13:11

Armenia and the Czech Republic are going to boost military-technical cooperation after the project on the ratification of the relevant interstate agreement was approved at a meeting of the Armenian government on March 30.

As Caliber.Az reports, citing the Armenian media, that the agreement, which has not yet been ratified, was signed on April 9, 2019, and should replace the previous one, dated March 10, 2010.

The ratification of the agreement will create a legal basis for the development and deepening of cooperation between the two countries in the military-technical sphere. The document provides for cooperation in the field of training specialists and technical personnel in educational institutions.

A working group on military-technical cooperation should be created within the framework of the intergovernmental commission on Armenian-Czech economic cooperation. The dates of the meetings, the rules and the procedures will be determined by the authorized bodies on both sides.

The Pashinyan government believes that the ratification of the agreement "fully corresponds to the strategic interests of the Republic of Armenia", and its implementation will expand international cooperation in the military-technical sphere.

After approval by the government, the agreement must be ratified by the Armenian parliament.
