Armenia: Deadly road accident leaves one soldier dead, six hospitalised

One Armenian serviceman has died and six others, including three civilians, have been injured following a road traffic accident on the Margara–Vanadzor highway.

The incident occurred in the afternoon near the village of Jrarat in the Armavir region (historically known as Sardarabad), when a Nissan vehicle collided with a GAZ-24, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.

All injured parties were transported to a nearby hospital, where one of the soldiers succumbed to his injuries.

An investigation has been launched, and a criminal case has been opened in connection with the accident. The Ministry of Defence has so far declined to comment.
