Armenia denies rumours of Azerbaijani saboteur arrest in Yerevan "He was a Russian tourist"
The Armenian Interior Ministry has denied the rumours circulating in the virtual space about the detention of an Azerbaijani saboteur in the centre of Yerevan.
The police detained a Russian tourist in the centre of Yerevan, suspecting the presence of narcotic substances in his possession, the press service of the Armenian Interior Ministry told Sputnik Armenia.
He was later released, the press service said, adding that the incident took place late in the evening the previous day.
The Russian citizen was "picked up" from the intersection of Mashtots Avenue and Amiryan Street and taken to the central department of the capital. However, no drugs were found on him, and it was found out there that he had come to Armenia as a tourist.
In this connection, rumours have already appeared in the press that an Azerbaijani saboteur was allegedly detained in the centre of Yerevan.
