Armenia denies talks on hosting EU illegal migrant centre

The issue of establishing a centre in Armenia to hold illegal migrants from European Union member states has not been discussed with Yerevan, Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan said in response to a request from the state news agency Armenpress.

"We have not received such a proposal, and this issue has not been discussed with us," Badalyan said.

Earlier, it was reported that the EU Council was expected to discuss on 4 August a proposal to establish facilities for holding illegal migrants in several countries, including Armenia
