Armenia detains contract soldier on charges of treason PHOTO
The National Security Service of Armenia has detained a contract serviceman, platoon commander of one of the units of the Armenian Defence Ministry on charges of treason.
It is noted that the serviceman through the social network Odnoklassniki met with a representative of a foreign intelligence service, Caliber.Az reports referring to the Armenian media.
From January to June 2022, he gave him various documents constituting state and official secrets. They contained data on the military unit, the names of combat positions, communication channels, command and observation posts, interposition distances, their equipment, and etc.
As a result, the platoon commander committed high treason to the detriment of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and security of Armenia.
For the services rendered, he received a total of $200 (twice $50 and once $100).
As a result, he was arrested and made a confession. The case was sent to court with request for authorization of his arrest.
