Armenia detains former ally of Serzh Sargsyan

Armenian authorities have detained Vahtang Mirumyan, a former deputy finance minister and ex-deputy head of the State Revenue Committee, the country’s Anti-Corruption Committee has confirmed.

According to Armenian media, Mirumyan held these positions during the presidency of Serzh Sargsyan, Caliber.Az reports.

At the time of his arrest, he was serving as Deputy General Director for Commerce and External Relations at Gazprom Armenia.

The circumstances surrounding his detention, including potential charges, have not yet been disclosed.
