Armenia detains former labor minister amid anti-corruption sweep

Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee has detained former Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artem Asatryan.

The detention comes amid a broader investigation that previously saw the arrest of former MP and ex-head of the State Property Management Committee, Arman Sahakyan, along with several other former high-ranking officials, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

Media sources indicate that Asatryan’s arrest is connected to the same ongoing case. He served as Armenia’s Minister of Labor and Social Affairs from 2011 to 2018.
