Armenia, EU continue work on visa liberalisation
Dialogue on visa liberalisation between Armenia and the European Union will continue until all required conditions are fully met, Armenia’s Interior Ministry has stated.
The ministry said on May 5 that the European Commission delivered its first progress report on the implementation of the Visa Liberalisation Action Plan to Armenia, Caliber.Az reports.
The document noted the “clear political commitment of the Armenian authorities to carry out the necessary reforms aimed at visa liberalisation with the EU.”
“The European Commission will continue monitoring the implementation of all benchmarks established under the Action Plan, with the support of experts from EU member states. To this end, additional assessment missions will be organised in Armenia in the near future,” the statement read.
The ministry also stressed that the European Union continues to support reforms in Armenia by providing targeted technical and financial assistance, particularly through the “Resilience and Growth” program.
