Armenia exports domestically developed weapons for first time
Armenia has exported domestically developed weapons for the first time in its history, according to the country’s Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.
Hayrapetyan said the exports took place in May and involved shipments to two countries, with deals reportedly worth several million dollars. However, he did not disclose the destinations or the types of weapons exported, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
He described the transaction as a milestone for Armenia’s defence industry, saying it was completed “by overcoming numerous logistical challenges and obstacles.”
The minister also expressed gratitude to officials from the Ministry of Defence, the National Security Service, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the State Revenue Committee for their role in facilitating the process.
