Armenia, Greece bolstering military-technical cooperation
Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikian and Greek National Defense Minister Nikolaos Dendias convened for discussions on enhancing military-technical collaboration during the latter’s official visit to Armenia on March 4.
The meeting, as detailed by the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry and reported by Caliber.Az, highlighted the strengthening ties between the two nations in defence affairs.
The discussions encompassed an evaluation of the progress achieved in defence cooperation between Armenia and Greece, focusing on the implementation of agreements established during a meeting in Athens in December 2023. Additionally, both parties identified new avenues for collaboration, signalling a commitment to expanding their partnership in the defence sector.
Of particular significance was the decision to invigorate military-technical cooperation following the ratification of the Agreement on Military-Technical Cooperation between the two governments. This agreement is poised to provide a fresh impetus to bilateral collaboration, facilitating the exchange of expertise, resources, and technologies in defence-related domains.
Moreover, the meeting provided a platform for the exchange of perspectives on regional security matters. Armenia and Greece engaged in constructive dialogue on the prevailing security dynamics in the region, underscoring the importance of cooperation and coordination in addressing shared challenges and fostering stability.
