Armenia ignores upcoming CSTO exercises

The "Cobalt-2024" exercise organised by Russia's National Guard will be held in Novosibirsk from August 14 to 16.

"On August 14, 2024, under the leadership of the Federal National Guard Service of the Russian Federation, a special exercise involving the management and special operations forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will be officially opened at the agency's training centre in Novosibirsk Region. The exercise will conclude on August 16," said the press service of Russia's National Guard, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media. 

The event will include representatives from relevant ministries and agencies of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

During the three-day exercise, participants will share experiences and enhance their coordination skills between special operations units. The exercise will focus on practical skills for joint operations in searching, locating, and neutralizing illegal armed groups. Special forces will also practice storming buildings and vehicles, rescuing hostages, and neutralizing militants, with the use of aviation and drones.
