Armenia, India deepen political interaction - ambassador
Ambassador of India to Armenia Nilakshi Saha Sinha has hailed bilateral relations between the two countries.
"Warm relations have developed between Armenia and India, based on the solid foundation of centuries-old ties between the two peoples. Moreover, Yerevan and Delhi are deepening political interaction," the ambassador said on the sidelines of the Armenia-India business forum, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.
According to her, frequent visits of high-ranking officials also give dynamics to the development of bilateral relations.
The ambassador noted that such forums can become a stimulus for the expansion of business ties between the entrepreneurs of both countries, which in turn will contribute to the growth of trade turnover.
"The idea of holding the forum emerged about a month ago, when I was invited to the event designed to outline ways of activating business contacts between Armenia and India," Sinha pointed out.
She expressed hope that the mutually beneficial cooperation will develop, recalling the agreement signed earlier between Armenia and India in the sphere of high technologies.
The diplomat also informed that Indians are the second largest community in Armenia after Russians.
Earlier, Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy Narek Terian told journalists on the margins of the Armenia-India business forum that the trade turnover between Armenia and India increased by 7 per cent in 2023, reaching $380 million.
