Armenia manages to bring positions closer on some issues FM comments on talks with Azerbaijan
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has said that Armenia managed to bring positions closer with Azerbaijan on some issues.
Mirzoyan made the remarks during a press conference with his Croatian counterpart Gordan Grlić-Radman in Yerevan on February 8, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Armenian media.
He noted that the negotiations on a peace treaty with Baku are a consistent process, and the sides are making proposals and comments. At the same time, ministerial meetings are being held to discuss these issues.
“We received another proposal from Azerbaijan about 10 days ago. We are discussing the proposal. This shows that the negotiation process, in fact, has not stopped. We will make our new comments,” Mirzoyan said.
He did not disclose the content and details of the proposals, as the positions of the sides are changing periodically.
“The sides’ positions on various issues at various stages converge, sometimes they do not coincide. Therefore, it is inappropriate to take one detail and say about the sides’ position because tomorrow the situation may be completely different. I reiterate that we managed to bring our positions closer on some issues,” the Armenian foreign minister said.
He noted that Armenia has its own fundamental issues in this process. They have been publicly discussed many times.
Earlier, Mirzoyan said that Armenia has recently received another proposal from Azerbaijan regarding a peace treaty.
