Armenia open to expanded trade, transit cooperation with Azerbaijan

Armenian Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan has said that Armenia is ready to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan, including in trade and transit. 

Speaking about the possibility of importing fuel from Azerbaijan via Georgia, he urged the public and media not to focus solely on petroleum products, noting that Armenia would benefit from having a broader range of alternative energy sources, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.

Simonyan also stated that Yerevan should allow Azerbaijani goods to transit through Armenia to Türkiye. He confirmed that discussions with Baku on this issue are under way and suggested that such transit could be introduced in the near future.
