Armenia opens criminal case against revanchist blogger
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has initiated a criminal case after an incident involving journalist Zhirayr Voskanyan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
Earlier, his colleagues said that a scuffle erupted between Voskanyan and blogger Mika Badalyan. According to the Investigative Committee, a case of group hooliganism and self-rule was initiated on the basis of a statement received by the police, and Voskanyan was recognised as a victim.
Badalyan's lawyers, in their turn, had earlier refuted the information about the beating, adding that there is evidence to refute the version of Voskanyan's colleagues. According to Erik Aleksanyan and Alexander Kochubaev, Badalyan does not evade the investigation and is ready to appear at any call.
The scandalous revanchist blogger Badalyan has been repeatedly detained by Armenian law enforcement agencies for making provocative statements against the country's leadership.
