Armenia, OSCE/ODIHR deepen cooperation on democratic reforms, security

05 December 2025 17:31

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), Maria Telalyan, held high-level talks to advance cooperation on democratic reforms, electoral processes, and responses to hybrid threats.

During the talks, the sides reviewed key areas of cooperation with ODIHR, expressing satisfaction with the effective collaboration in strengthening democratic institutions and upholding the rule of law, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

Electoral processes formed a central part of the discussions. Mirzoyan stressed that the Armenian government views democracy as a foundation for continually enhancing national resilience and therefore intends to conduct all electoral processes in full accordance with democratic standards. In this regard, both parties highlighted the importance of active engagement with relevant international organizations, including ODIHR.

Mirzoyan and the ODIHR Director also discussed challenges stemming from hybrid threats, focusing in particular on effective mechanisms to counter disinformation. Both sides affirmed their readiness to deepen cooperation in this sphere.

The meeting further included an exchange of views on regional developments and a discussion of ongoing humanitarian issues.
