Armenia proposes UAE move from trial shipments to long-term contracts

Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan has held a meeting with UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi in Dubai, where the two sides discussed a range of issues related to expanding trade and economic cooperation between the countries, including moving from trial shipments to long-term contracts.

During the discussion on the sidelines of the 15th annual investment conference, Papoyan emphasised the importance of simplifying access to the UAE market for Armenian exporters amid efforts to diversify export markets, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

Papoyan proposed establishing a practical communication mechanism with relevant UAE authorities to help Armenian companies better understand market requirements, existing standards and certification procedures.

The Armenian economy minister also proposed organising visits by UAE businesspeople to Armenia to familiarise themselves with the country’s production capabilities, hold B2B meetings and move from trial shipments to long-term contracts.
