Armenia records 26 military deaths in 2025, investigations underway
Armenia’s armed forces recorded twenty-six cases of servicemen’s deaths in 2025, Artur Poghosyan, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Armenian National Assembly, has stated.
Speaking at a session of the parliament, he said criminal proceedings have been launched in all cases against 27 individuals, including 16 servicemen, 2 militia members, 8 civilians, and one unidentified person, Caliber.Az reports, citing Sputnik Armenia.
The cases include both deaths of servicemen and killings committed by them or occurring within military units.
Poghosyan noted that in 2024, there were 35 such incidents involving 40 deaths.
According to him, in 2025, no deaths directly related to military service were recorded, compared to five such cases in 2024.
