Armenia reduces period for reservist training to 25 days
Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan announced at a government meeting on October 13 that the timeframe for reservist training will be reduced from three months to 25 days.
According to him, the next training camp will be held exactly for this period, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Armenian media.
Papikyan also said that in the near future, the Armenian Ministry of Defense will come up with a proposal, according to which women will be able to take fire training at shooting ranges. There will also be an order for this.
“This, of course, is optional. Issues related to the form for participation in training and the time of participation will be clarified,” the minister said.
For his part, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashiyan noted that this decision is due to the fact that the three-month fees paid to reservists have shown their inefficiency.
He added that from an economic point of view, the new decision creates a manageable situation since the unavailability of an employee for a month is not insurmountable for employers.
