Pashinyan says former Armenian presidents no longer political competitors
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has declared that former presidents Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan are no longer his political competitors.
Speaking during a question-and-answer session in the National Assembly, he said there was nothing new to add regarding previous administrations, noting that the government’s published documents on the Karabakh issue made this clear, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
He stressed that public and political debate about former Armenian leaders should come to an end.
Pashinyan acknowledged that the authorities occasionally respond to political provocations, which leads to renewed discussion of former presidents Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan. He emphasised, however, that he no longer views them as political competitors, saying they have not posed such a challenge to his government for a long time.
