Türkiye’s Erdoğan lands in Bishkek for key SCO summit
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has arrived in Bishkek to attend the 26th summit of the heads of state of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), as Kyrgyzstan hosts the high-level gathering on August 31 and September 1.
Erdoğan was welcomed at Manas International Airport by Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev and Türkiye’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Mekin Mustafa Ökem, TRT Haber reports.
Erdoğan is accompanied by his wife, Emine Erdoğan, and an official Turkish delegation.
During his visit, Erdoğan is expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings with heads of state and government attending the summit. He will also take part in the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games.
The Turkish president is scheduled to address the SCO summit, which brings together leaders for discussions on regional cooperation and international issues.
