Kutaisi airport launches direct flights to Venice

Direct flights between Venice and Kutaisi have begun operating from Kutaisi International Airport as of December 2, according to the Georgian Airports Association (GAA).

The route is operated by Wizz Air twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, using an Airbus A321neo, Caliber.Az reports per Georgian media. 

The GAA stated that 340 passengers travelled on the inaugural Venice–Kutaisi–Venice service.

Arriving passengers received a ceremonial welcome at Kutaisi David Agmashenebeli International Airport. The event was hosted by GAA Director General Levan Moseshvili and Mari Davidze, Head of the Imereti Destination Management Organisation. Travelers on the first flight were also presented with symbolic gifts from the airport authority.
