Armenia rules out arms race with Azerbaijan, minister says

Armenia has no intention of entering an arms race with any nation, including neighboring Azerbaijan, Defence Minister Suren Papikyan said during a press conference.

Papikyan emphasized that while Armenia seeks to avoid escalation, this does not signal a halt to the country’s ongoing military procurement or modernization efforts, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

"As for plans, they exist, but I don’t think there is any dissonance that would require discussing alternative measures; everything is proceeding as forecasted," Papikyan stated.
