Armenia’s FM Mirzoyan to join key talks at Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Türkiye

09 April 2025 15:07

Ararat Mirzoyan, Armenia's Foreign Minister, will attend the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Türkiye from April 11 to 12, as confirmed by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The visit will include bilateral meetings, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media.

Also, Ruben Rubinyan, Armenia's Special Representative for the Normalisation of Relations with Türkiye and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, will attend the forum.

The annual event, which brings together diplomats and global leaders, will take place in Antalya from April 11 to 13. Both Mirzoyan and Rubinyan participated in the forum last year as well.

To recall, the 4th edition of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF2025), hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, will take place in Antalya, Türkiye, from 11–13 April 2025, under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

This year’s theme, "Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World," addresses the urgent need for diplomacy to re-establish itself as a stabilising force amidst escalating global divisions. Geopolitical rifts, rising global inequalities, violence targeting civilians, intolerance towards differing views, technological disruptions, and the multifaceted impact of the climate crisis have all undermined global trust and disrupted the international order. The incapacity of the current global system to address these pressing challenges has exacerbated efforts for international cooperation.

In light of this heightened instability, the Antalya Diplomacy Forum seeks to critically assess the systemic issues facing the multilateral order. The Forum will facilitate discussions on how diplomacy can navigate the complexities of the current international landscape. It will bring together leaders, policymakers, scholars, business experts, and civil society representatives to explore ways in which diplomacy can adapt to overcome divisions and foster collective action.

The Forum will encourage the redefinition of diplomacy’s role and core principles in a time of increasing polarisation. Addressing the root causes of various global issues, it will urge policymakers to reassess diplomatic strategies, with a particular focus on conflict resolution, mediation, and regional cooperation. Furthermore, the Forum will explore solutions to the dysfunction of global governance, examining the erosion of trust in international institutions. It will also highlight the complementary role of non-governmental stakeholders, aiming to make diplomacy more inclusive, adaptable, and resilient.

The Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2025 promises to be a crucial platform for the development of strategies that will position diplomacy as a driving force for peace and international cooperation in an increasingly fragmented world.
