Armenia's permanent population keeps shrinking

According to the data of the 2022 national census, the permanent population of Armenia is 2,932,731, of whom 1,548,250 are female and 1,384,481 are male.

Caliber.Az reports citing the State Statistics Committee of Armenia that the indicator of the actual population for the same period was 2 million 869 thousand 438 people.

Thus, compared to the previous census (2011), the indicators of both actual and permanent population have decreased. In particular, compared to the 2011 census, the number of the permanent population in Armenia decreased by about 86 thousand 123 people. In 2011, the permanent population of Armenia was 3,018,854 persons, while in 2001 it was 3,213,011 persons.

The permanent population of urban settlements was 1 million 871 thousand 913 and of villages - 1 million 60 thousand 818. The population of Yerevan in 2022 was 1 million 86.7 thousand people.
