Armenia relaxes rules for drivers with foreign licenses
Armenian citizens and dual nationals holding foreign driver’s licenses will now be allowed to operate vehicles in Armenia for up to 90 days without facing administrative penalties.
According to Armenian media, referenced by Caliber.Az, the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the decision, which comes after the ministry conducted a detailed review and considered public proposals before initiating legislative amendments.
The new regulation will officially take effect on August 2. From that date, individuals entering Armenia will be permitted to drive using their foreign-issued licenses for a period of three months.
Importantly, the change is not limited to newcomers. The revised rules will also apply retroactively to those already residing in Armenia who are currently using foreign driver’s licenses to operate vehicles.
