Inaction could trigger worldwide consequences, Iran’s Araghchi tells EU’s Kallas
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone conversation on June 11 with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, during which the two discussed the regional situation following US strikes on several sites in Iran.
According to a statement from the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Araghchi strongly condemned Washington’s actions, describing them as a blatant violation of the UN Charter and international law.
He said the US strikes had effectively undermined the ceasefire regime and argued that responsibility for any resulting consequences rests with the United States.
The Iranian foreign minister also criticised what he described as the silence of UN member states regarding the incident and warned that inaction by the international community could lead to increased instability both in the Middle East and globally.
