Russian deputy FM accuses West of prolonging Ukraine conflict
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin has told the ambassadors of France, the United Kingdom, and Germany—Nicolas de Rivière, Nigel Casey, and Alexander Lambsdorff—that their countries are pursuing a destructive policy aimed at encouraging Kyiv to continue its war against Moscow, according to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“The heads of diplomatic missions were presented with objective assessments of the destructive policies of their countries’ leadership regarding the Ukrainian crisis, which are aimed at maximally stimulating the Kyiv authorities to continue the war against Russia on behalf of, at the expense of, and with the direct assistance of the Western ‘coalition of the willing’,” the ministry said following a meeting requested by the Western diplomats.
The Russian deputy foreign minister also outlined Moscow’s principles for seeking a political and diplomatic settlement to the conflict, based on addressing what it describes as its root causes, the ministry added.
“The principled approaches of the Russian side to seeking a political and diplomatic settlement of the [Ukrainian] conflict based on eliminating its root causes were explained,” the Foreign Ministry stated.
