Türkiye pledges continued role in Russia–Ukraine peace efforts

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has said that Türkiye will continue to actively support efforts aimed at resolving the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Speaking in Sofia after talks with his Bulgarian counterpart Velislava Petrova-Chamova, Fidan emphasized the importance of achieving peace for regional stability, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

Fidan stated that “a long-term security guarantee in the Black Sea basin undoubtedly depends on the cessation of the ongoing war to our north.”

He added: “We consider it extremely important for ensuring stability in our region that peace between Russia and Ukraine be achieved. Türkiye will continue to actively support the parties in this direction. We hope that a lasting and just peace based on international law will be achieved as soon as possible.”
