Russia reviews security measures ahead of September vote

Russian President Vladimir Putin convened an оператив meeting with permanent members of the Security Council to discuss additional security measures ahead of the State Duma elections scheduled for September, the Kremlin press service said.

The meeting focused on ensuring public safety during the preparation and conduct of the parliamentary vote.

“Measures to ensure public security during the preparation and holding of the elections to the State Duma, which will take place in Russia in September of this year, were discussed. Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev delivered a report on the subject of the meeting,” the statement said.
