Investigators believe the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device, Caliber.Az reports, citing Telegram channel NEZYGAR.
The area where the vehicle was attacked was originally developed as a residential district for military personnel and veterans, and is home to participants in Russia’s military operations in Ukraine, as well as veterans of campaigns in Syria, Chechnya, and Afghanistan.
The report also noted that a lieutenant general had been killed in a similar car bombing in the same area a little over a year ago.
