Pashinyan sets export diversification as Armenia’s strategic priority

03 September 2026 13:17

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stressed that diversifying the country’s export markets must remain a strategic priority, regardless of whether Russia lifts restrictions on imports of Armenian goods.

Speaking at a meeting of the Armenian government, Pashinyan said Armenia should continue pursuing export diversification even if existing trade-related problems within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) are resolved.

“I believe that even if all the problems within the EAEU are resolved, diversification should become our strategy. Despite everything, we must not deviate from this course,” Pashinyan said.

He added that Armenia should welcome progress in addressing existing trade problems, noting that efforts by both the public and private sectors are contributing to their resolution.
