Satellite images show damage at Russian refinery after drone attack PHOTO

Satellite images have revealed damage at the Kstovo-based LUKOIL-Nizhegorodniinefteproekt refinery in Russia following a drone attack on August 26.

According to Exilenova+, the images show at least four areas of intense fire caused by drone strikes.

Technological pipe racks and columns at the AVT-4, AVT-5 and AVT-1 primary crude oil processing units were heavily damaged, along with equipment used for the secondary processing of vacuum gas oil.

The refinery has been completely shut down for repairs.

The facility accounts for up to 11 percent of Russia’s petrol production and has an annual crude oil processing capacity of about 17 million tonnes.
