Armenia's PM announces new chief of staff appointment

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has announced that his chief adviser, Lilit Makunts, will be appointed head of the Prime Minister's Office as part of a series of senior government appointments.

Speaking at a press briefing, Pashinyan said Makunts would take over the position currently held by Araik Harutyunyan. He also announced the upcoming reappointment of Armenia's ministers of defence and the interior but did not provide further details on the timing of the changes, Caliber.Az reports per Armenian media.

Makunts has served as Pashinyan's chief adviser since August 2025. Before assuming that role, she was Armenia's ambassador to the United States from 2021 to 2025.
