Armenia's PM: I am not moneylender, creditor or borrower

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he was neither a creditor nor a debtor, while stressing that he takes his position as head of government seriously.

“I am the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, and I take this position seriously, and I would advise you to take it seriously as well,” Pashinyan said, Caliber.Az reports, quoting Armenian media.

“I am the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia; I am not a moneylender, a creditor, a borrower, or a debtor. I don’t know who you’re confusing me with,” he added.

Pashinyan also addressed the issue of criminal activity, saying those responsible for theft should face imprisonment.

“A thief, a criminal—his place is in prison. Whether it’s a thief by law, a thief by decree, or a thief by decision of the council of elders, all thieves must end up in prison,” he said.

The Armenian prime minister also said the country would continue strengthening its border service to ensure state control over the country’s borders.

“Armenia is developing and will continue to develop the capabilities of its border service, so that our border is fully under the control of the Armenian border service,” he said.
